Brown 'Confident' Over Credit Crisis
Synopsis:
Gordon Brown has told Sky News that he is confident "reason will prevail" among US politicians trying to agree a $700bn rescue package for banks caught in the credit crunch.
The Prime Minister said it was "disappointing" that the bail-out President George W Bush has been attempting to broker had been rejected by Congress.
"What's happening is clearly disappointing, it's a matter of regret because it has created so much uncertainty not just in America but around the world," he said.
"But I'm confident reason will prevail. Reason must prevail and I think reason will prevail."
