Grace Jones
Headline:
The Legend, Alive and Laughing
Synopsis:
She has never been forgotten, but admittedly a little out of the limelight. Grace Jones, real name Mendoza and born in Jamaica, defined disco in the 70's and the androgynous look in the 80's. Her biggest hit „Slave to the Rhythm“ is to this day an irreplaceable club standard. Now Grace is 60, cool as ever, and generating well earned euphoria with her rousingly modern, eclectic come back album „Hurricane“. Here she talks about what made her decide to return to the music industry and why she turned her back to music in the first place.
“It's not fun to go out anymore. Nothing is allowed, you can't do anything anymore. I mean, to smoke you have to go stand outside the door, that is really totally sick, don't you think?”
