Headline:

I am fed up chasing Joe

Synopsis:

CARL FROCH is ready to forget about Joe Calzaghe — because he failed to knock out an 'old man'.

The Cobra has chased a Battle of Britain showdown with the two-weight world champion for years.

But with a clash against Jean Pascal for the vacant WBC super-middleweight title coming up on December 6, Froch has run out of patience.

And he believes Calzaghe's points win over Roy Jones Jr at Madison Square Garden is proof that his fellow Brit has seen better days.

Froch said: "I don't think Joe will take much credit himself from that fight because he knows he was in there with a finished and washed-up boxer.

"Jones in his day was unbeatable but I think Joe will be realistic about it. Who he fought and what he beat in there was 40 per cent of what Jones used to have.
