Synopsis:

A smiling three-year-old girl reaches over to hug her mum and says: “I love you. You’re my best friend.”

But for Kerrie Hughes the memory brings only heartbreak and an unbearable sense of loss. Because as Kerrie kissed little Ellie and one-year-old sister Isobelle and waved them off on a weekend with their dad David Cass, she was saying goodbye for ever.

A few hours later, disturbed Cass, 33, smothered the two little girls and then killed himself in an almost unthinkable act of revenge against the woman he had walked out on three weeks earlier.
