Lewis Hamilton cheated out of Belgium win, says Murray Walker

Synopsis:

F1 commentator Murray Walker talks to Telegraph TV about Lewis Hamilton, who can win next year's F1 title and the future of the British GP.

"I think Lewis Hamilton is a phenomenon the like of which we have never seen before," Walker says.

"No-one has finished second in their first year in the championship, and he would have won it but for one point. No-one has won the title in only their second year in Formula One. And no-one has captured the imagination of the world in the way that he has.

"It has been a performance of spectacular brilliance, and he is still only 23. Provided he stays with a good team, and as long as he doesn't drown in money in the meantime, I see no reason why he should not go on to win at least another seven world championships, which would give him eight, ahead of Michael Schumacher.

"I think that there are six drivers capable of winning the world title at the moment, two each from McLaren and Ferrari, and I think that Robert Kubica and Sebastian Vettel are also in with a good chance. So it will get more and more exciting, providing the politicians don't put their oar in.
